Pebble Smartwatch CES 2014 event set for 6th Jan, has “Something Special” to show off

Pebble unveiled its first SmatWatch at the CES 2013 last year before it started shipping them to Kickstarter backers. This year Pebble has announced that it would show off Something special, in a blog post titled "Something Special This Way Comes to CES…" The company added, "our year-end reveals were just a sample of the big things in store". We are not sure what is coming our way, but it is expected to be a new SmartWatch, Pebble 2 with a better high-res e-paper display, new watch bands and more new features. The company already revealed that it would launch separate app store for developers to release their apps for the SmartWatch. The app store would come early 2014, said the company last month. Hope we would get a demo of the app store at the CES next week. The Pebble event is set for 6th January 11am PT or 7th Jan 12:30 am IST. It will also stream the event on getpebble.com. LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition Benchmarks

Google and LG partnered to launch the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition back in December last year. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let's see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Since Google has optimized the processor to use the minimal use of CPU cores when the phone is idle, some benchmark might not show the correct scores. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giR2Kq4avKk Quadrant Benchmark It scores 10678 points in the Quadrant Benchmark and lies just behind the Tegra 4-powered Tegra Note. Just a few minutes back, we covered the Acer DA223 HQL which was a 21inch portable Android AIO and now Acer has announced Acer TA272 HUL which is 27inch portable Android AIO. The huge 27inch wide angle display sports a WQHD resolution(2560x1440 pixels). Despite being huge and bigger than most normal monitors, it is powered by Android OS. Just ahead of the CES, we see numerous manufacturers announce various products and the latest to announce a portable Android AIO is Acer. The Acer DA223 HQL AIO is a huge 21inch AIO that is powered by Android and comes with a built in battery so that it can be used as a big tablet(Yes. A 21inch tablet). The 21inch wide angle display sports a Full HD resolution(1920x1080 pixels) and hence a pixel density of 105ppi. Surprisingly, the AIO is powered by Android OS. Acer Iconia B1-720 and Iconia B1-721 with 7-inch display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor announced

Acer has announced Iconia B1-720 and B1-721, upgraded version of last year's Iconia B1-A71 tablet. It ha a 7-inch capacitive touch screen 10-point multi-touch display based on One Glass Solution technology and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor (Probably MediaTek MT6572, similar to the Liquid Z5. It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, but the version is not available yet. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for video chats. The Iconia B1-721 has 3G support and the Iconia B1-720 comes with WiFi. Both these have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal and an expansion slot. Polaroid announced that it would unveil 50″ Smart TV and 50″ Ultra HD TV at the CES. It would also unveil new tablets in the Q Series at the event next week. The Q7 (7" tablet), Q8 (8" tablet) and Q10 (10.1" tablet) are Wi-Fi enabled tablets powered quad-core processors and runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Regarding the new tablets, Scott W. Hardy, Polaroid President and CEO, said Tablets are changing the way consumers use and share their favorite media and memories, and Polaroid's robust line of tablets is allowing more consumers to share with on-the-go convenience. Our Q Series provides consumers with super-fast quad core processing speeds allowing for faster performance and less wait times when watching movies, or playing games. In addition the Q series' sleek design and affordable price point make it a great choice. These have HDMI, Bluetooth, front-facing speakers,  front and rear cameras and Google Play Store. These tablets are designed and manufactured by Southern Telecom, an authorized Polaroid licensee. Complete specifications are not available yet. Acer has unveiled the Liquid Z5, successor of the Liquid Z3 that was launched last year. It has a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor with Mali 400 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a  5-megapixel rear camera with 5 elements f2.4 lens, LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby. It has DTS Sound technology and Acer RAPID design for one-hand control to unlock and/or wake-up the screen, launch the camera, take a picture, launch apps from home screen and pick up phone calls easily. It has Quick Mode profiles such as Basic Mode, Senior Mode, Classic mode and Keypad mode. It has Acer Float User Interface that allows app windows to stay open for better multitasking. Acer has just announced that Acer Iconia A1-830 tablet after teasing it for the past few days. It has a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) LED-backlit  IPS display with 178 degree viewing angle and  4:3 aspect ratio and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a aluminum metal back cover and sturdy frame for enhanced durability and weighs 380 grams. Android version is not available yet, but it is likely to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Galaxy Note 3 Lite (SM-N7505) is rumored to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress next month along with a range of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy Grand Neo smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet and more. Now User Agent profile of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite (SM-N7505) has been leaked on the official Samsung website that reveals that the Note 3 Lite would feature a (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).  The UA Prof doesn't reveal anything other than these two details. According to earlier leaks, the device is rumored to feature a 5.49 or a 5.7-inch display, which would probably be a LCD screen instead of a Super AMOLED. It is also rumored to feature a 8-megapixel rear camera and is likely to come with stylus support, similar to flagship Note smartphones. It might also come with dual SIM support. The phone is expected to be slightly smaller than the Mega 6.3, but it would have Note features. Samsung is known to announce its flagships in a its own event, but looks like things are about to change for the South Korean electronics giant. Samsung's VP has stated that the company's new flagship - Samsung Galaxy S5 will be announced during MWC 2014 that is scheduled in February. As reported by Korean Media, at a New Year's Party event in Shilla Hotel in Seoul, Samsung's VP and Head of Design Strategy, Dong-hoon Chang has said that the rumors that Galaxy S5 will be unveiled at MWC 2014 were just about right. To fuel further speculations about Samsung launching two premium flagships in the first of the year - Mr. Chang mentioned that the company is excited about the materials used for Samsung Galaxy S5. We are inclined to believe that he could have been referring to the Samsung Galaxy F series that is expected to complement the S series, but with better and premium build quality. Lava Iris 405+ that was spotted online earlier this week has been officially launched in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Intel to show off innovative Wearable devices at CES

Last year Intel unveiled Quark X1000, a range of small SoCs aimed at wearables. CEO Brian Krzanich has revealed that Intel would unveil innovative wearables at CES, according to his interview with Recode. Intel would introduce new SoCs in the Quark chip family and a range third-party wearable devices powered by the Quark chip at CES in Las Vegas next week, says the CEO. These new wearable devices are likely to ship only later this year. Regarding the wearable devices, Brian Krzanich, CEO, Intel, said, What you will see at CES is that we are actually going to bring some very innovative wearables to the show that are developed and manufactured here. We'll show you some things that you would never have thought could become smart and communicate. We don't have any other details about these wearable devices yet. Intel revealed its plans to get into Web TV business recently, but it din't take off. Intel CEO revealed that it needs a partner that could rapidly expand the media library, since they don't have experience in this field. ZTE has announced that it would unveil the Grand S II, the successor of Grand S that was unveiled at the CES 2013 last year. It would also launch BlueWatch, its first Smartwatch and its first phablet with a 5.7-inch HD display and dual screen functionality. HTC M8 Specifications leaked – Comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 6.0

Last year this time, we were hearing leaked specifications and rumors about HTC's then flagship - HTC One which was known in the rumor mill as HTC M7. Today, we find ourselves in a similar position as rumors about HTC's next flagship start coming in and HTC's next flagship is reportedly codenamed HTC M8. Rumors were floating around the HTC M8 will feature a 5inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 and UltraPixel camera. These rumors are close to real as popular twitter leakster @evleaks has tweeted the specifications of HTC M8. According to the tweet, the specifications of M8 are Snapdragon 800 5inch Full HD 1080p display 2GB RAM UltraPixel rear camera 2.1MP front camera 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Android 4.4 KitKat Sense 6.0 Going by the specifications, there isn't much change from the previous flagship - HTC One.
