| Pebble Smartwatch CES 2014 event set for 6th Jan, has “Something Special” to show off Posted: 03 Jan 2014 09:31 AM PST Pebble unveiled its first SmatWatch at the CES 2013 last year before it started shipping them to Kickstarter backers. This year Pebble has announced that it would show off Something special, in a blog post titled "Something Special This Way Comes to CES…" The company added, "our year-end reveals were just a sample of the big things in store". We are not sure what is coming our way, but it is expected to be a new SmartWatch, Pebble 2 with a better high-res e-paper display, new watch bands and more new features. The company already revealed that it would launch separate app store for developers to release their apps for the SmartWatch. The app store would come early 2014, said the company last month. Hope we would get a demo of the app store at the CES next week. The Pebble event is set for 6th January 11am PT or 7th Jan 12:30 am IST. It will also stream the event on getpebble.com. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let's see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Now User Agent profile of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite (SM-N7505) has been leaked on the official Samsung website that reveals that the Note 3 Lite would feature a (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The UA Prof doesn't reveal anything other than these two details. Samsung's VP has stated that the company's new flagship - Samsung Galaxy S5 will be announced during MWC 2014 that is scheduled in February. As reported by Korean Media, at a New Year's Party event in Shilla Hotel in Seoul, Samsung's VP and Head of Design Strategy, Dong-hoon Chang has said that the rumors that Galaxy S5 will be unveiled at MWC 2014 were just about right. To fuel further speculations about Samsung launching two premium flagships in the first of the year - Mr. Chang mentioned that the company is excited about the materials used for Samsung Galaxy S5. CEO Brian Krzanich has revealed that Intel would unveil innovative wearables at CES, according to his interview with Recode. Intel would introduce new SoCs in the Quark chip family and a range third-party wearable devices powered by the Quark chip at CES in Las Vegas next week, says the CEO. These new wearable devices are likely to ship only later this year. Regarding the wearable devices, Brian Krzanich, CEO, Intel, said, What you will see at CES is that we are actually going to bring some very innovative wearables to the show that are developed and manufactured here. We'll show you some things that you would never have thought could become smart and communicate. We don't have any other details about these wearable devices yet. Intel revealed its plans to get into Web TV business recently, but it din't take off. Lava Iris 405+ that was spotted online earlier this week has been officially launched in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera, similar to the Iris 405. Last year Intel unveiled Quark X1000, a range of small SoCs aimed at wearables. CEO Brian Krzanich has revealed that Intel would unveil innovative wearables at CES, according to his interview with Recode.
